Okay, I entered ~Attache (https://www.deviantart.com/attache)'s Vanessa Lake contest and didn't become a finalist, or even a semi-finalist. I thought my entries were, well, better than average. I know that I shouldn't make art for the sake of others, but I feel kinda down that others didn't like my entries. The bad thing is that I tried my best. Okay the pirate one was kind of goofy and was simply me just having fun, but the space one I really tried hard. I look at it now and I could have done a more dynamic pose and had better light

I've been watching people's stock account. You know to get ideas about what to paint next. I find it really fun to try to see what I can do with a stock photo. I don't sing show tunes often (Okay I sing them all the time), but the fact that tomorrow the sun will come out offers no solace. Much of the Northern Hemisphere is experiencing spring. I guess spring in Minnesota is supposed to be gray and depressing. It has been very gray and very depressing. I'm not one that really has S.A.D. but man, gimme some sun! I try to get out, have some fun, run around, but there just aint no denying, it's just been ugly. Like Shakespeare once said "What a gray, crappy day." I have no reference for that quote but I'm sure he said that, once. The gloomy day seeps into attitudes, and my whole family is so grumpy. I
